Terms and Conditions

I create and sell my designs/pieces subject to the following conditions:

Design and colour variation

All of my designs are handmade from the highest quality ethically sourced materials and as these may contain natural, recycled, upcycled materials no two items will ever be the same, due to colour, grain, metal and gemstone variations. This variation is part of the charm of hand-worked  and hand crafted items, and ensures that you will be purchasing a unique item.

Photos on the website may be indicative only and may not be of the exact item that you will receive, should this be the case it will be highlighted in the description.

Prices

Prices do change occasionally as I work in precious metals and these do fluctuate, I will inform you prior to final payment if this is the case with your order.

All orders are handmade and will be finished once payment has been received in full.

Bespoke or commissioned work is subject to a 50% deposit upon ordering and 50% completion payment.

Hallmarking

All of my items containing precious metals are hallmarked at the Edinburgh Assay Office to guarantee their quality, to learn more head here - hallmarking.

Shipping and Handling

Once I have received payment, it will take between 3-4 weeks until your piece is ready, subject to availability of the chosen materials.

This may be slightly longer for orders placed at peak times, although it can be quicker too, I aim to keep you informed, either via messenger apps or via email.

I will always do my utmost to deliver your item to you as quickly as possible without compromising on quality and care.

All items will be posted using Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed, with appropriate insurance

For orders outside of the UK, please contact me via enquiries@iainsainsbury.com to discuss options as since BREXIT selling to most EU destinations is impractical as UK Hallmarks are no longer accepted, for items not needing a hallmark or for countries which accept UK or CCR Hallmarks I will I will ship via an international carrier and a tracking system will be available. An admin charge of £50 is applicable for shipments outside the UK.

All shipping charges are calculated based on the weight of each order or number of items bought

VAT

I am not VAT registered as such 20% VAT is included in the price

Payment

I accept payment via my secure online shop or via BACS. Online payment is accepted via Stripe (credit cards and Apple Pay) and PayPal.

All items which are not bespoke can be purchased directly through the website.

For bespoke designs you will be sent an estimate invoice for your order with payment instructions.

Bespoke or commissioned work is subject to a 50% deposit upon ordering and 50% completion payment. As precious metal prices are subject to change I will usually give an indicative estimate price for the piece(s) and a win dow of expected costs depending on the fluctuating markets, the final completion payment will be detailed in your invoice.

Returns policy

I follow all applicable UK consumer protection laws, including the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

  • You have a 14-day cooling-off period from the day after delivery to cancel most online orders for any reason.

  • You must return the goods within 14 days of telling me you wish to cancel.

  • Refunds are processed within 14 days of receiving your return, using the original payment method.

  • I may deduct an amount if the item shows signs of handling beyond what is reasonable for inspection in a store.

  • If your item is faulty or damaged, you are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

I hope that you will be delighted with your item and cherish it for a lifetime. Bespoke designs are made to order, orders cannot be cancelled once confirmed and we are also unable to accept returns, please therefore choose your design carefully, especially the size. If for any reason a ring doesn't fit, I may be able to resize it for you although this can normally be by a maximum of one whole size up or down, more than this may require additional metal to be added or removed.

If the design is asymmetric or has stones set this may not be possible. If the size of the ring is out by a greater amount than highlighted above, or I cannot resize it owing to the design, then I offer to take back the original ring and to remake the ring for you in the correct size at a heavily discounted price.

Defective goods may be returned for exchange, provided that they are returned to me within 30 working days of receipt, unworn and in their original packaging.

No returns are accepted without our prior authorisation by email.

For hygiene and safety reasons, the following items cannot be returned unless faulty:

  • Earrings or any body-piercing jewellery, once opened or worn,

  • Items that have been worn, used, or altered after delivery.
