While engagement and wedding bands form a central part of my work, my bespoke practice extends across custom milestone gifts, signet rings, and memorial pieces. Every commission begins with a blank canvas, a personal milestone, or a specific sentiment—translated into modern architectural forms.
Drawing on Machine Age geometry, Art Deco step-cuts, and organic Art Nouveau contours, I forge pieces that balance understated restraint with striking structural presence.
Imprinting Earth and Memory Directly Into Precious Alloy
For clients seeking a unique piece tied to an important place, a physical landscape, Sentimental Topography is my signature sandcasting practice, using a traditional bench technique to fuse personal geography with fine goldsmithing.
Clients gather sand or grit from coastlines, mountaintops, or family lands around the globe—from Cornish coves, inlets in Croatia to Diamond Beach in Iceland. Carefully packed into foundry casting flasks at my bench, this sand forms the precise mould into which I pour molten Single Mine Origin (SMO) or heirloom gold.
As the liquid metal fills the void, it takes on the elemental matrix, texture, and grain of that shore permanently. The result is a piece of fine jewellery carrying the physical footprint of a landscape that matters to you.
Candid Craftsman Guidance & Bench Transparency
When you commission a piece through my studio, you deal directly with the goldsmith making your jewellery.
There are no sales intermediaries or commercial account managers, just honest, bench-level guidance from start to finish.
I believe in complete transparency. If an initial concept or thin setting poses structural risks for lifelong daily wear, I will advise you truthfully and collaborate with you to refine the design without compromising its aesthetic soul.
Throughout the build, I share direct photo and video updates from the bench peg, giving you a front-row view as raw metal and hand-selected stones are transformed into your finished piece.

Commissioning Your Piece: From Concept to Bench
Every bespoke commission is treated as a unique, valued project. To ensure exceptional quality and focus, I accept a limited number of custom commissions each year:
Consultation & Concept (1-2 Weeks): We discuss your story, preferred metals, stone requirements, or personal sand samples via video call, during this time I will create some conceptual ideas to discuss.
Design & Stone Sourcing (2-3 Weeks): Once a concept is agreed, I develop detailed hand sketches and source a curated selection of ethical gems, or build silver test prototypes where precision fit is required (this may require extra time if the design is complex).
Bench Casting, Fabrication, Hand Polishing and Hallmarking (3-5 Weeks): The piece is cast, hand-forged, stone-set, and finished at the bench before being hallmarked and presented in custom packaging.
Bespoke milestone and sandcast commissions typically range between £1,500 and £8,000+, depending on metal alloy, stone selection, and design complexity.
