BOMBÉ BROOCH - Statement sterling silver bombé inspired brooch, set with sapphires and moissanites
Part of the Bombé collection.
A sterling silver brooch the front featuring contrasting rough sand textures juxtaposed with a polished surface on the rear.
The reverse features a stainless steel double pin catch.
Completed cast-in-place small Australian parti sapphires and moissanites, (despite the heating as they were cast-in-place the sapphires have retained their colour). some of the stones have been given additional star setting support to ensure their security.
The brooch is cast using sand from Kennack Sands on the south coast of Cornwall, this gives it a fine texture. Cast using the Delft Clay technique (every cast is different as the mould can only be used once), cleaned by hand, and polished.
