BOMBÉ EARRINGS 2 - Statement stud earrings, mixed 9ct gold and sterling silver bombé inspired earrings, set with cast in place sapphires
Part of the Bombé collection.
A pair of mixed metal earrings, sterling silver and 9ct gold sandcast earrings contrasting rough sand textures juxtaposed with a polished surface. The lower portions of the earrings are cast in sterling silver with 9ct gold bonded to the top section.
Completed with 9ct gold posts/butterflies and set subtly with two small Australian parti sapphires, despite the heating as they were cast-in-place they have retained their blue colour.
They are cast using sand from Porthcurno on the south coast of Cornwall, near the Minack Theatre, this gives it a deep texture. Cast using the Delft Clay technique (every cast is different as the mould can only be used once), cleaned by hand, and polished.
