BOMBÉ RING 4 - A sterling silver bombé ring, sandcast with cast-in-place sapphires
Part of the Bombé collection.
This is a ring, sandcast in sterling silver with sapphires set during the casting as “cast-in-place”. The five Sri Lankan sapphires used in this ring were added to the mould before the metal was poured, the heat gives them a soft dark colour and is a unique feature.
A cocktail ring with a difference, no two stones respond the same way when cast in place, a true one of a kind (size K1/2 - can be made slightly bigger if needed)
The ring was cast using the Delft Clay technique (every ring cast is different as the mould can only be used once), and then it was cleaned by hand and polished.
The stones are pastel Sri Lankan sapphires which have been heated during casting to give their final warm tones. There are four on the top of the ring and one on the side.
If you like this style of ring, but would prefer a different stones - diamonds, sapphires please email me (enquires@iainsainsbury.com) and we can discuss further.
