ATOMIUM Brooch - Stunning 9ct gold sandcast triple hoop brooch with tube set sapphires and spinels

£1,775.00

Part of the ATOMIUM collection.

An beautiful 9ct gold sandcast pendant, set with sapphires and spinels, completed with a handmade stainless steel brooch pin.

This brooch features three 15mm hoops, sandcast in 9ct SMO gold, using sand from Kennack Sands in Cornwall. The contrasting fine tube settings and the support structure reflect the ATOMIUM in Belgium. Each tube is set with a different stone, the three larger purple stones are spinels and the smaller stones are Australian parti sapphires.

The sand used to cast this brooch comes from Kennack Sands, on the very tip of the Lizard in Cornwall. The sand is relatively unique as it is full of serpentine, an uncommon metamorphic rock. Every sandcast element is different as the mould can only be used once, after casting they are cleaned by hand, polished and set.

If you like this style of brooch, but would prefer a different stones - please email me (enquires@iainsainsbury.com) and we can discuss further.
