ART DECO PENDANT 2 - Stunning, 9ct gold white and yellow sandcast pendant set with a spellbound cut prasiolite
An elegant and stunning 9ct gold pendant.
The sandcast central bar is pierced by the white gold setting, the flanking bars alternate white and yellow gold. Each bar reducing in size in line with the Golden Ratio.
The stone is captivating and unusual. It is a prasiolite, a rare, green form of amethyst. It is cut with the “Spellbound” cut designed by Jeff Rhonemus, the stone is cut in geometric pattern alternating polished and unpolished facets, giving a stunning visual effect.
The design of the piece is inspired by the art deco architecture of the Plaza Cinema in Truro, Cornwall and the claw setting of the stone is inspired by the intricate “flat” claw setting of classic Cartier pieces.
The central bar is sandcast in 9ct SMO gold, using sand from Chapel Porth in Cornwall, a famous surfing beach on the North coast of Cornwall, which gives it a deep texture.
