Precision with Conscience

A Considered Approach to Craft

In a world of mass production, I believe the most sustainable choice is a piece made with intention, designed for longevity, and crafted by hand. My practice is rooted in the belief that fine jewellery should not only have a soul but a clean conscience

Traceable Gold & Heritage Metals

I work exclusively with Single Mine Origin (SMO) Gold and 100% recycled precious metals. SMO gold provides a ‘Map of Provenance,’ ensuring that the metal in your jewellery supports environmentally sensitive mining and direct social investment in the mining communities. By choosing heritage metals, we bypass the need for new extraction, giving new life to gold that already has a history. If SMO gold or heritage metals are not an option I use recycled metals, these are 100% recycled from previous uses, for example the recycled silver I use is extracted from old medical x-ray films (AgAIN Silver).

Ethical Gemstones & 'Perfect Imperfection’

I source gemstones from suppliers who share a commitment to transparency and human rights, moving far beyond the standard Kimberley Process. I often seek out unusual stones, different stone cuts, offcuts and freeform cuts that are often overlooked by commercial industry. These stones carry a unique character and ensure that no part of nature’s beauty is wasted.

Technical precision in my Great Abington workshop is powered by a low-impact infrastructure. I have moved away from traditional oxygen tanks in favor of an oxygen concentrator, using a propane-fueled Smith’s torch for the majority of my bench work. When higher thermal energy input is required, I use an oxyhydrogen system that generates fuel from water, minimising my reliance on carbon-based sources. Supported by solar energy and a rigorous ventilation recovery system - all precious metal sweepings and workshop dust are captured for recycling - every material, from FSC-certified instrument wood to our eco-friendly packaging, is selected for its quality and quiet footprint.

The Low Impact Atelier

By sourcing the majority of my materials within the UK and handcrafted every piece, personally, in my workshop, I maintain a short, transparent supply chain. This is jewellery that supports the local economy and honours the ancient tradition of the British maker.
